As of Lately

It's been a busy few months. I decided I needed to do a recap! Hayden is changing SO MUCH!! It is so much fun to hear him talking and actually understanding the things I say. It's so bitter sweet to see him change! I love to feel like there is some communication taking place which I think makes him every bit as happy as me. Here are some of the things we've been up to

We have a really great Childrens Museum here and Hayden LOVES it

Learning to feed himself

This boy loves anything that is his Daddy's

He always tries to help me clean!

It's hard to tell in this picture but there is a monkey around his neck that G and G
Richins gave him and he LOVES it and will run around the house with it.

Trying to say "CHEESE"

We have a lot that we are saving for right now so we decided to really tone down Valentines Day. This next picture is a reminder of how sweet and thoughtful Brett is

He accumulated all of the loose change in our house, gave it to me and told me to buy something for myself, and although it doesn't look like much money, it was enough for some new Jessica Simpson shoes (mmmm hum)

Brett has always made a big deal out of Holidays, not with big expensive gifts necessarily but by always putting a lot of thought into things. I always fall short unfortunately! He always says that Valentines Day and our Anniversary are for the him to make me feel special and I've always just kinda gone with that but realized that I don't do much for him with these two particular holidays....So this year was different! I have been saving my tips and putting them aside so that I could buy Brett a Circular Saw. Anyone who knows Brett knows that the way to his heart is through tools :) I was really excited to get this for him.

School is busy as ever and this semester is getting close to being done. Almost 2 years down which blows my mind.

For journaling purposes here is what Hayden has been up to.

*He loves to wear shoes. Even when we're not going anywhere he always brings me his shoes and then will run around the house in them.

*He loves Rylee so much! Seeing them play makes all of the times that I want to kill her worth it. Soon they will be best buds (when Hayden stops hitting her with hangers, stepping on her when he walks by, and mauling her with hugs!! ha ha)

*He is a binky boy. But I almost think that I love the binky more than he does. I haven't even attempted to take it away yet. I'm not...., I mean, he's not ready yet :) (he only gets it at nap and bed time and then at church)

*He loves wheat crackers and would prefer it over any other snack

*He loves tomatoes and HATES fruit snacks (I swear he's not my kid LOL)

*Every morning we go downstairs and have breakfast and he then books it up the stairs and plays with Rylee until she can't handle it any longer and comes down stairs.

*He no longer crawls up OR DOWN the stairs (unless he's in a hurry), he holds onto the wall or the banister (and gives me a heart attack every time because our stairs are wood. So far no hard falls.... knock on wood)

*He loves music and will dance anytime he hears any

Hayden loves to mimic everything that we say and do. It amazes me just how much he understands. He tries to say lots of words (some of which sound good and some sound like gibberish) Some of the newer words are;

Shoes
Cracker
All Done
Here you go
Bye Bye
Juice
Thank you

Those along with probably 30 other words and learning more words everyday. He is so friendly and loves to be around other kids.

I still do hair 3-4 nights a week and sew every chance I get in between :) It's such a blessing to be able to work at home. I never want to stop doing hair and I'm so grateful that I don't have to leave Hayden to do it.

I know that blogging usually turns into a big "look at my life, it's so awesome" but these are the things that I want to remember. Our life is in no way perfect but we are happy, we love each other, we're healthy and that's all I could ask for.

Here's a clip of Hayden giving Rylee some love!
You can tell how annoyed Rylee is lol. And of course as soon as I stopped the video he started dancing!

I love blogs for the journaling! Makes keeping track of things nice and neat :) Hayden is getting so big! And he's so handsome, seriously!

BTW, you're way ahead of me with the binky: Hazel 'lost' hers permenantly about 2 weeks ago and we're finally trying to wean Lucy to only have hers durning naps and bedtime. Binkies have made my life easier and I'm in no hurry to say goodbye to them :)

Hayden is such a cutie Carlee. I did get your text seriously that made my day. That was so sweet and thoughtful that you would make a cake for me. Especially when you get to eat it all:) I wish I could have had a piece. You are such a wonderful friend and I cherish our friendship. Love you Carlee.

When did he get so big!! And I think it's perfectly fine to put all the awesome things in your life down on your blog. Otherwise we'd forget those sweet tiny little moments that add up to a great life!
