Since I Moved to the 'burgh I have developed the love for sewing! My mom always tried to get me to sew when I was young and I HATED IT! I wish I would have learned as a kid because I know that I would be so much better and that I could have learned so much from my mom. But instead I learned here :) ...
From her
(I totally stole this off your facebook Elise...hope that's ok :)
Elise is an amazing seamstress who has taught me so much. I would never have gotten into it had it not been for her help and patience. Thanks Elise for helping me discover a talent that I probably never would have developed.
So as most of you know I have an online sewing business that I started a while back! It has kept me crazy busy and I've learned so much from doing it. However it's kept me so busy that while sewing like mad for other people, I never take the chance to sew for me. So I was determined that it was time :) (mysugababy.blogspot.com)
I love to look at peoples craft blog, for ideas, covets, ect. I fell upon this little tutorial and thought it was a really cute idea...but I tweaked it a bit. I wanted to make it into a blanket for Hayden, so along with that tutorial I came up with this..
Don't judge...There are a million mistakes with my spacing but over all I LOVE IT. Me and this quilt have a love hate relationship although.. It was quite the project. I went into thinking it wouldn't be that hard or take me that long....HAHA right. I machine quilted the whole thing which is really time consuming. I made it out of 2 pieces of flannel with batting in the middle and all of the letters are cotton scraps that I had left over from the million projects from the past.
I decided to quilt it together with evenly spaced horizontal lines (very time consuming) and then I sewed all of the letters on which was what made it so hard.. it was a lot of fabric to work with and trying to sew them on straight was a chore.... So my point is that I love this quilt, more importantly Hayden loves it and loves to snuggle with it and play with the letters, but I won't be doing another one any time soon (maybe for baby #2, no this is not an announcement)
Would I recommend someone to make this? I would actually but know that it takes a lot of time and patients but the result will be worth it :) If any of you make it let me know how it turns out.

It turned out beautiful! Great job, I don't think I've ever met someone who said their ABC quilt was easy or wasn't worth it and I can add mine to the list. You are such a talented seamstress!!!! And that is a really really cute picture Elise!
