My big boy is 3.  I can hardly believe it.  We had such a fun day with him.  I decided that I am not going to do big parties for my kids until they are old enough to ask for it :)  (Hayden's one year party almost did me in).  The night before I started feeling bad that I literally hadn't planned ANYTHING for him, and quickly improvised.  I sent out an e mail to all of his little friends moms to see if they wanted to meet up at Chick-fil-a.  Just because I didn't plan a party, I definitely wanted to make sure that Hayden felt special on his big day.  We woke up and sang Happy Birthday to him.  His response?  "um..It's not my Birthday yet" haha when we convinced him that it was indeed his birthday he was SO excited.  I made him a special breakfast and then we took Brett to school.  For lunch we met up with his friends at Chick-fil-a and let them play.

He has such fun little friends (and even funner moms) that I can't even imagine having to say goodbye to in 8 months :(

 

 

Brett took the afternoon off and came home to have some "special daddy time" with Hayden.  They left and went to PNC Park, the professional Baseball Park where the Pirates play, and got to take a tour.  They got to go down in the dugout and go down where they practice.  Brett forgot the camera, but Hayden LOVED it.

They got home and we went to Chuck E Cheese.  It was SO MUCH FUN!  It was a tuesday night so it wasn't at all crowded.  I'm not sure who had more fun though, Brett or Hayden :)

I didn't do a cake for Hayd because I knew I'd either eat it all or it would just go to waste, so I bought him a big Monster Cookie that I knew he'd love.

There really are 3 candles there :)

Hayden is so much fun right now, and also very difficult.  The 2's were kind to us.  I'm not sure that the 3's will be so kind :)  He is finding his independence and I love to watch his little mind work when he's trying to figure something out.  He's talking better and better everyday.  The things that come out of his mouth are Hilarious.  He LOVES Beckham and is so good with him, and helping me with him.  He is really smart (too smart for his own good sometimes).  He knows his letters and all of the sounds.  I can tell that he has a mind like Brett's.  He is very good at figuring out how things work, without having to be shown.  He loves to whistle and sing.  He's so full of energy and we just love him to pieces.

Height: 39 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 37 lbs (80th percentile)
